I hope this image makes you smile.
If you look at this man he is clearly homeless, with all his belongings in the backpack beside him. To many urban dwellers pigeons are seen as pests, flying rats as a friend of mine calls them. Yet this man the poorest of the poor treats them with such kindness.

I was on a stroll, and I saw a man collapse and fall against the ground banging his head, a crowd suddenly gathered round him. I went over to see if there would be a photo opportunity.

When I was looking around right behind this scene of chaos, this man was just in the corner of a side street feeding these pigeons with bread crumbs straight out of his hands. He was talking to them with genuine care.

Out of the few shots I took I choose this one, as although the other pics had more dramatic birds in motion, if you look closely at the two birds on his hand and shoulder they are beak to beak as if they’re kissing. As he looks down with affection.
